Visiting Utrecht circular initiatives
Regenalyze organised a visit for the companies of the Næringshagene i Norg to showcase Utrecht’s circular initiatiatives. We visited and discussed a various green and circular economy initiatives:
- Yuverta, the largest European trainer providing courses for thousands of professionals in the blue-green sector
- ROM Utrecht Region Earth Valley, a development agency supporting entrepreneurs in the Utrecht Region who contribute to a future-proof living environment, healthy people and valuable digitization.
- The Green House, a circular restaurant in circular building where we had lunch,
- Kanaal30, a creative and socially committed workplace
- Het Hof van Cartesius, a testing ground for circular construction and circular entrepreneurship
- The Farm of the Future, which aims towards a regenerative-nature inclusive-sustainable-circular agriculture
- Green Side, developing circular notebooks
We then learned about the circular ambitions and actions of the City of Utrecht, as well as applied research projects from AUAS such as the Robot Lab, the textiles lab at Centre of Expertise Creative Innovation, the Urban Upcycling and European Climate Initiative (EUKI) Cure+ project. The examples gave rise to lively discussions in the group about implications and comparisons with Norway.
